Recently Rob Costello, Project Manager with Thompson Electric was nominated to participate in the Employer Support for Guard and Reserve (ESGR) outreach program, for a Boss Lift operation.
The Boss Lift is a program where employers and supervisors participate in various training exercises. During Rob’s trip with the 185th Air Refueling Wing of Sioux City, he flew on a KC135 refueling plane. The mission was to refuel A-10’s from the 442nd FW Air Force Reserve over Missouri.
Before the flight, the group was briefed on the daily procedure, what to expect during the flight and facts about the KC135. Information included how much fuel the KC135 can carry, how quickly it can offload fuel, the plane range, the fuel system and how it transfers within the plane.
During this unique experience, Rob was able to experience all aspects of a mid-air refueling exercise.
Congratulations to Rob for being chosen for the ESGR outreach program.
