Last week, the city of Sioux City officially became a Home Base Iowa Community and Gov. Terry Branstad was in town to bestow the honor to city leaders and compliment the business owners on their commitment to hire veterans over the next 4 years. Governor Branstad mentioned that Thompson Electric was one of the first Sioux City businesses to sign up for Home Base Iowa. Skip Perley, CEO, for Thompson Electric, spoke for a few minutes on why Thompson Electric chose to participate in the Home Base Iowa program.
As one of the first Sioux City businesses to sign up for the Home Base Iowa program, Thompson Electric has pledged to hire at least 10 veterans by Dec. 31, 2018. By participating in the Home Base Iowa program, Thompson Electric will have the opportunity to participate in the annual 185th Air Refueling Wing career day job fair held in Sioux City during the summer.
This is an honor to be part of the Home Base Iowa program and Thompson Electric is thankful for the men and women that serve and protect our country. As we look forward, we hope these young men and women will consider a career at Thompson Electric and become a part of our community.
