The Greater Siouxland Area Chamber of Commerce had their annual dinner last week. This was a special occasion for TEC Corp as Renee Beaulieu’s (our CFO) one year term as the Siouxland Chamber Chairperson was coming to a conclusion.
During Renee’s term as Chamber Chair, she had several goals of what she wanted to accomplish while leading the Siouxland Chamber. One of those goals was to increase membership of small businesses. Developing programs to help small business with such issues as health insurance, human resources and financial reporting is one of the ways the Chamber is reaching out to its members. As a result, small business members are seeing more value in membership of the Siouxland Chamber.
Being the Siouxland Chamber Chairperson, was a very time intensive position. Renee spent countless hours at chamber events and meetings, in addition to her daily responsibilities at TEC-Corp. We are especially appreciative of those commitments and efforts by Renee. The commitment by Renee is a reflection of all the employees of TEC-Corp, Thompson Electric and Electric Innovations that take pride in becoming involved in our communities.
To cap off the Siouxland Chamber’s Annual Dinner was keynote speaker Marcus Luttrell, retired Navy Seal of Navy Seal Team # 10 and author of Lone Survivor. Mr. Luttrell’s account of Operation Redwing in Afghanistan, had everyone in attendance, (a record attendance of 1800 people), undivided attention for his 70 minute account of his mission. It was so riveting and intense, you could have heard a pin drop during his story. As Chairperson, one of Renee’s last responsibilities was to choose the keynote speaker, and everyone agreed, she made an awesome choice in Mr. Luttrell.
Thank you Renee for your commitment and devotion as Chamber Chair. You made all of us proud to be part of the TEC-Corp family.
