One of the unknowns when the TEC Corp family of businesses moved into the new offices about 15 months ago in Sioux City was, how much would the Learning Center room be utilized.
The Learning Center is used by Thompson Electric for safety training, project management training, field staff training, leadership training, administration and accounting training and much more.
Then it was discussed about letting outside entities use the room. The question was, who should be able to use the Learning Center? It was clear that an outline of qualifications needed to be established to determine who could use the Learning Center, such as, not taking any business away for the local hotel and conference centers, no political functions, no alcohol and not for business use but for charities, non-profits and employee use.
The Learning Center has been used for many functions by our employees including, birthday parties, graduations, baby showers, holiday parties, temporary location for church services, coaches meetings and some of Thompson Electric’s employees that are involved with non-profit organizations will use the Learning Center for their meetings.
Also, we have 3 non-profits that use the Learning Center on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule. These include the Children’s Museum, Leadership Siouxland and Siouxland Community Foundation.
This room has not only been a benefit to Thompson Electric, but has also been a great resource for Thompson Electric’s employees and the Siouxland community.
